Born in Campbell River on Vancouver Island, I graduated from the Metal Jewellery Design program at North Island College in 2017. Since then, I have been handcrafting wearable art from semi-precious metals and literally hammering one of a kind textures into unique pieces. One of my favourite techniques is anodizing Niobium – a rare non-toxic metal found in British Columbia. By using electric current the dark gray metal changes to rich blues, greens and pinks that catch the eye.
I have lived in and travelled to over 25 countries where the cultural arts have influenced my ideas of pleasing forms. I draw on my understanding of nature and its organic forms, abstract art and its structured chaos, Art Deco and mid-century modern architectural lines, and the form and function of urban design to create combinations of shapes for jewelry pieces. It is simply a creative urge that motivates me to design modern jewelry for modern people.
